Feel the Spirit
Chicago keyboardist-vocalist Robert Lamm wrote a tribute to Terry Kath in the early 1990s as the band was working on the never-released "Stone of Sisyphus" album. The song didn't make the album's lineup, but has surfaced on the new Beckley-Lamm-Wilson album.
This album, entitled "Like a Brother," features the talents of Lamm, Gerry Beckley of the group America, and the late Carl Wilson of the Beach Boys.

Feel the Spirit
I was all dressed up.
Are you sittin' down?
The voice of reason asked.
Oh, and my knees were shaking.
Heart was breaking, too.
Then the news came in,
Help me with my soul.
???Go on and hurt a friend.
Oh, it only took a minute.
Oh, but a light year to begin it.
From my ear to my brain is a torturous route.
I can't say how many nights I cried.
???But just a moment reaches from the light.
And the dream should have come true.
(chorus)
Can you feel the spirit?
Dawn breaks over the water.
Can you feel the spirit?
New day is coming to light.
Oh my gentle friend.
The years passed so fast.
All the pain was such a load.
There was no joy in playing.
And no sense in staying.
Now it's not disturbing,
The peace with you.
???
Like a missionary in the jungle.
And I guess it's something to survive.
Now we open up the heart, make it feel again.
Can you feel the spirit?
Dawn breaks over the water.
Can you feel the spirit?
New day is coming to light.
(repeat chorus)
